1. About this policy
SuccessionWise Pty Ltd (ABN 13 692 272 469) ("SuccessionWise", "we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you visit our website, register your interest in SuccessionPRO, contact us or use our services.
SuccessionWise develops tools, resources and services that support farming families, rural communities and professional advisers with succession planning, relationships, resilience and long-term decision-making.
We have chosen to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- your name and email address
- your telephone number and organisation, if you choose to provide them
- information you provide when registering your interest in SuccessionPRO, requesting information or contacting us
- communications and enquiries you send to us
- technical information our website host receives when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type, which is used only to deliver and protect the website (see section 10).
We collect personal information directly from you. You can choose not to provide information we request, but we may then be unable to respond to your enquiry or provide the requested service.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- record and respond to registrations of interest in SuccessionPRO
- send registration confirmations and updates about SuccessionPRO
- respond to enquiries and maintain business relationships
- send news, invitations and information about our services, where you have agreed to receive them
- maintain, improve and secure our website and services
- meet our legal and administrative obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose you would not reasonably expect.
4. Email communications and your consent
When you register your interest in SuccessionPRO, we will send you a confirmation email and updates about SuccessionPRO. We will only send you other news or marketing if you have agreed to receive it.
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask to be removed from our mailing list by contacting us (see section 14). We will act on unsubscribe requests within five business days.
Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not stop us sending messages that relate directly to an enquiry or service you have requested.
5. Service providers and overseas disclosure
We use trusted service providers to help us run our website and communications, including website hosting, email, information technology and data storage.
We use Mailchimp, a service provided by Intuit Inc., to manage registrations and send emails. Information you provide through our registration form is stored on Mailchimp's servers in the United States. Our website is hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which stores data in Sydney, Australia.
We choose providers with established security and privacy practices, and we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We do not otherwise disclose personal information to third parties except with your consent, where required or permitted by law, or as described in this policy.
6. SuccessionPRO
SuccessionPRO is being developed to support succession planning and decision-making for farming families and their advisers.
Registering your interest through our website does not enrol you in SuccessionPRO, and it does not involve sharing detailed family, financial, relationship or succession-planning information. SuccessionPRO will have its own privacy notice, which we will give you before it collects any of this information.
7. Sensitive information
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information) through our website. Please do not include sensitive personal, health or financial information in website forms or general enquiries.
8. Dealing with us anonymously
You can make general enquiries without identifying yourself or by using a pseudonym, where this is practicable. To register your interest or receive updates, we will need your name and email address.
9. Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access is limited to people who need the information for legitimate business purposes.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC where required.
10. Cookies and website analytics
Our website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising tools. Our website host keeps limited technical information about requests, such as IP addresses, for a short time to protect the website from misuse.
When you submit the registration form, your details are sent to Mailchimp, and Mailchimp's own pages and privacy practices apply.
11. Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within 30 days, and there is no charge for making a request.
12. Questions and complaints
If you have a question, concern or complaint about how we handle personal information, please contact us using the details in section 14. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to respond in full within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
